Is pursing two degrees, diploma and certificate simultaneously allowed or not ?

Confusion regarding simultaneously pursing 02 academic programmes (degree/diploma/ certificates)

A lot of us has this doubt whether we can simultaneously pursue 2 degrees or 1 degree and diploma or 1 degree & certificate simultaneously and will both of them will be valid or not ?

As per UGC's Guidelines issued in April, 2022 :-

1. A student can pursue two full time academic programmes in physical mode provided that in such cases, class timings for one programme do not overlap with the class timings of the other programme.

2. A student can pursue two academic programmes, one in full time physical mode and another in Open and Distance Learning (ODL)/Online mode; or up to two ODL/Online programmes simultaneously.

3. Degree or diploma programmes under ODL/Online mode shall be pursued with only such HEIs which are recognized by UGC/Statutory Council/Govt. of India for running such programmes.

4. Degree or diploma programmes under these guidelines shall be governed by the Regulations notified by the UGC and also the respective statutory/professional councils, wherever applicable.

5. These guidelines shall come into effect from the date of their notification by the UGC. No retrospective benefit can be claimed by the students who have already done two academic programmes simultaneously prior to the notification of these guidelines.

The above guidelines shall be applicable only to the students pursuing academic programmes other than Ph.D. programme.

IGNOU Gold Medal Criteria

The gold medalists in IGNOU are identified based on the recommendations of a Committee constituted by the Competent Authority for the purpose. IGNOU University Gold Medal is given to the respective course topper(s) who fulfills all of the following criteria :- (1) The students should have completed the programme within minimum duration. For Eg: The minimum duration to complete M.A. Programme is 2 years. (2) The student should have secured highest aggregate marks in the programme. (3) The student should not have repeated any of the courses in the programme. (4) The student should not have been booked under un-fair means during the course of study. How to Calculate Final marks in IGNOU

Calculate Final marks, Division and Grades in IGNOU For calculation of final marks in a course, assignment carry 30% weightage while 70% weightage is given to the marks obtained in the Term End Examination (TEE). 1- For courses in which maximum marks in Term End Examination (TEE) and assignments = 100, you can use the following method.
