IGNOU Gold Medal Criteria

The gold medalists in IGNOU are identified based on the recommendations of a Committee constituted by the Competent Authority for the purpose.

IGNOU University Gold Medal is given to the respective course topper(s) who fulfills all of the following criteria :-

(1) The students should have completed the programme within minimum duration.
For Eg: The minimum duration to complete M.A. Programme is 2 years.

(2) The student should have secured highest aggregate marks in the programme.

(3) The student should not have repeated any of the courses in the programme.

(4) The student should not have been booked under un-fair means during the course of study.

(5) The student should have secured first division in the programme.

(6) There should be a minimum of 10 qualified and eligible students in the programme.

(7) Any other terms and conditions prescribed by the Committee from time to time.

For securing Gold Medals you should try to secure as many marks as you can in Assignments by following the Instructions for IGNOU Assignments in my previous post. You should then concentrate your efforts towards the Term End Examinations.

Gold Medals are usually distributed in the convocation. Gold Medals will have your Name, Programme, Registration Number and Year of passing engraved in it on one side and IGNOU symbol on the other side.

Also, there will a separate degree certificate which will have "University Gold Medal (year)" written over it with the course name.

The exact lines will be " This is to certify that (Name of student) has been awarded the University Gold Medal for securing first position in order of merit in (course name) examination held in the June/December (year of examination)

Topper's talk on MECMARDMEGPGDOM BCA are available in which the IGNOU Gold Medalists have shared their strategy.

I have also created a Facebook group which provides a single platform to All India Gold medalists in different courses, IGNOU achievers in various fields & pass out students so that you can learn from their experience. You are welcome to join.

All the Best for securing your University Gold Medal !

If you appear in the TEE without submitting the assignments, the result of TEE would be liable to be cancelled. Do's & Dont's from the first to last day in college

"The only permanent thing in this world is change" From the cosy comfort of your house to bunking up with strangers in a hostel room is one of the most adventurous yet uneasy feeling in the world. If you are amongst a lucky few whose parents came to drop you in college, to help you get settled in hostel by buying various day to day hostel amenities like cots, bed sheets, pillow, bucket, soaps, hangers etc., consider yourself extremely lucky if they don't get overwhelmed while leaving you behind just to ensure that you don't get weak in your commitments.  But if they are not able to control their emotions and give you that blissful teary Good-Bye hug, don't look down upon them, don't get embarrassed that so many guys/girls/faculties are watching, Embrace them, tightly, like you have never done before. And trust me when I say this, the walk from the place where your parents left to your hostel/class, will be the longest walk you will eve
